Fire in London building: Among the dead 2 Bangladeshi

Two British-Bangladeshi nationals are believed to be victims of a tragic fire in Grenfell Tower (24-storey building) in West London, UK. The UK High Commission in London on Monday cited London Metropolitan Police Service as the UK's Foreign Ministry said. Bangladesh High Commission's Minister (press) Nadeem Qadir gave the news in an e-mail message. The names of these two dual citizens of Bangladesh and the United Kingdom have also been published. They are Husna Begum (22) and Rabeya Begum (64).

Despite not mentioning the relationship between them, the British Foreign Ministry said they were living in the Grenfell Tower's 142 apartment. It is believed that both of them had relations with their mother and daughter. After the fire, a Bangladeshi family was reported missing in the building. Rabeya's husband Kamrul Mia's ancestral home in Kaisaura village of Akilakura union under Sadar upazila of Moulvibazar.

It may be mentioned that at least 14 people were found in the fire on June 14. The London Police thought they were all killed. However, the death toll could rise due to the destruction of the Grenfell Tower.
